Reverse Outline Strategy Reflection

Truthfully, at first I found this exercise confusing and I was struggling to connect it to my Research Critical Analysis essay. However, after viewing the attached video you gave us that went into detail It helped me understand what was being asked of us. The reverse outline strategy helped me analyze the major points of my essay and evaluate if they had strong evidence to back it up. By following this strategy I was able to revise my thesis statement so it became more concise and it backed up my sources. I felt it was really helpful to go back to my first essay draft and evaluate my structure and proofread through it to see if I caught any errors or repetition. This also made me realize that some of my paragraphs tried to juggle multiple ideas which made it hard for the reader to follow and there were areas that needed to have a stronger reflection. As a result, when I was putting together my second draft I felt more confident and it provided me guidance on how I would structure my essay so it met the requirements for the Research Critical Analysis essay. The main thing I will revise for my final draft is I will work on properly citing my evidence and making sure that I summarize effectively without it being too long or side-tracking from my reasoning. I will also combine similar ideas into one paragraph to get rid of the redundancy and I will edit out any ideas that are unrelated to the claims I made in my thesis statement. One thing I want to work on for my next assignment is organizing my writing better so they follow a logical sequence to prove my main claim/ argument(s) and making sure my ideas don’t repeat in other paragraphs. One last thing I would like to work on for my next assignment is to work on keeping my sentences short or straight to the point. Since, I often find myself running into the issue where my sentences are run-on and don’t leave the readers room to take a break.
